Volunteers Make The Difference!

As a volunteer, you will be essential in helping care for the animals at our shelter. We hope that your time as a volunteer will be as rewarding for you as it is for the animals. Your and caring improves their quality of life Your time prepares them for their new and permanent homes.

How do I become a shelter volunteer?
The quickest way is to fill out our online Volunteer Application. Or you can call, email, or visit the address above and ask for a volunteer packet. The packet has information that includes a list of the jobs you can do, the goals of the shelter, a volunteer agreement, and a form to complete. Once you have completed the volunteer packet you can fax or return it to the shelter and the volunteer coordinator will call and schedule and orientation with you.
How old do I have to be?
You must be at least 14 years old. If you are 10-13 years of age, your parent or other responsible adult must also become a volunteer and work with you at the shelter. This is quality "together" time at its best!
What kind of a commitment do we seek from you?
We ask that you volunteer at least three hours each week for a period of 6 months (or longer).
What does a volunteer do?
Volunteers help clean cages, feed and water, bathe and groom cats, assist people who visit the shelter, and perform many other tasks. Volunteers also are needed to transport cats to low cost spaying and neutering facilities. Others help with special projects, like attending booths at community fairs or participating in fundraising events. Some even help by fostering pets too young for adoption, or in need of special attention.
